About Shiraz Republic
Shiraz Republic is a vineyard, brewery and cellar door in Cornella, in the Heathcote wine region of central Victoria, about 40 minutes from Bendigo. Its Rent-A-Row program lets small groups pick their own Shiraz grapes at harvest time, from a 25 acre vineyard, and turn them into wine with help from the on-site winemaking team. Packages range from a small Shareholder share for two people through to a Barrique share for larger groups, each covering picking and crushing on the day, with pressing and bottling stages held later in the year.
Harvest picking runs from mid February to March, with exact timing weather dependent, and sessions are booked in advance through an online calendar. Visitors are asked to arrive fifteen minutes before their booking. The cellar door is open Friday to Monday from 11am to 5pm, with tastings on other days by appointment. House pizzas and food stalls are available on site, and leashed dogs are welcome. Shiraz Republic also runs a craft brewery, live music events and a public canola walk in winter, alongside its wine and picking program.
