About Blooms and Coos
Blooms and Coos is a small, spray free you pick flower farm in the Lorne valley, about 40 minutes from Port Macquarie. Visitors are given sterilised snips and choose their own blooms from the field, then take them home in a vase with pre cut foliage included. What is in flower changes through the year: ranunculus, poppies and snapdragons in spring, dahlias, cosmos and zinnias through summer, and chrysanthemums in autumn. The farm closes over winter and its spring picking sessions typically start in August or September. Sessions run for about an hour and a half and are capped at 30 pickers so there is room to move around the field and enough blooms to go around, so booking ahead online is essential as sessions fill quickly; the farm generally only opens bookings around three weeks out to keep the flowers at their best. Options range from an entry only ticket, through a small posy pick, up to a larger field bucket pick. Children under 10 are not permitted to use the snips themselves. The farm also keeps a small herd of miniature Galloway cattle that visitors can meet. Disabled access is available; contact the farm for details.
