About Ricardoes Tomatoes and Strawberries

Ricardoes Tomatoes and Strawberries is a well known pick your own farm at Blackmans Point, about ten minutes from Port Macquarie on the NSW mid north coast. Unlike most self pick farms it runs year round, because the strawberries are grown on raised vertical hydroponic frames and the tomatoes in hydroponic glasshouses, all fully covered, so there is no bending down and picking can continue even on a rainy day. The farm favours natural pest control with beneficial insects over heavy spraying. On site there is a farm shop selling fresh produce and local gifts, a cafe open until mid afternoon serving hot food and scones, sealed roads and car parking, and accessible toilets. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor picking areas but not inside the cafe, shop or greenhouses. Free guided farm tours run on weekday mornings. Entry is free and no booking is needed to visit or pick. Ricardoes is at 221 Blackmans Point Road, Blackmans Point, open seven days a year round, and has been recognised locally as one of the Port Macquarie area's most awarded tourist attractions.
