About Winnindoo Flowers
Winnindoo Flowers is a family run flower farm at Winnindoo in Gippsland, on Ross Road near Heyfield. Each summer the farm opens a sunflower field for picking, typically from mid January through to around March, weather and bloom dependent. The field is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 3pm, until the season ends. Entry costs $5 per person for anyone over 12, with the takings donated to the Royal Children's Good Friday Appeal, and stems cost $5 each or five for $20. Visitors are asked to bring their own secateurs, wear suitable footwear as it is a working farm, and watch for bees if anyone in the group has allergies. Children must be accompanied at all times, and dogs are welcome on a leash provided owners clean up after them. Cash is preferred, since the EFTPOS connection in the field relies on wifi and can be unreliable. There are no public toilets on site, being a working farm, though staff can point visitors to the nearest township.
