About Waterwheel Orchards

Waterwheel Orchards is a family run berry farm at Boolarra South in the hills behind the Latrobe Valley, growing raspberries, blackberries and blueberries free of chemicals and sprays. In summer, when the berries are in season, visitors can bring a container and pick their own through the fields. The range on offer is unusually wide for a small farm, including red, yellow and black raspberries, and many blackberry varieties such as American Bramble, Silvan, Marion, Boysen, Logan, Young, Murrindindi, Chester and Lawton, along with tayberries. The picking season is short, usually running from late November to early January, and the farm asks visitors to call ahead to check hours and whether picking is open before making the trip. Outside the picking season the farm sells its own frozen berries, jams, sauces and cordials year round, and also has kiwifruit and some citrus available through winter. Boolarra South is about 170 kilometres south east of Melbourne, in Gippsland.
