About Jay Berries
Jay Berries is a family run u pick berry farm at 140 Wandin Creek Road, Wandin East, in the Yarra Valley about an hour east of Melbourne. The Stewart family has grown strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries on the property for around three decades, and also grows seasonal vegetables that visitors can pick alongside the berries.
The farm is open six days a week from 8:30am to 4:30pm, closed on Saturdays. Berries come into season at different times through spring, summer and autumn, so not every variety is ready to pick on every visit, and produce is sold by weight at the packing shed rather than a flat rate. The farm has a relaxed, low key feel compared with some of the busier u pick operations nearby, with drinks and fruit slushies sold at the shed. Because availability depends on the weather and how each crop is tracking, it is worth checking the farm's website or Facebook page, or calling ahead, before making the trip out.
