About Sunflowers On Kents
Sunflowers On Kents is a cut-your-own sunflower farm at Kalbar, in the Scenic Rim region south west of Brisbane. It opens to the public only on selected weekends each year while the sunflowers are in bloom, historically around August, as part of the wider Kalbar Sunflower Festival period.
Entry costs $20 per person over the age of 15 and includes six sunflower stems to cut and take home, with children entering free. Visitors who would rather not cut their own can buy a ready picked bunch for $20 instead. On open days, marquees on site sell coffee and cold drinks, along with home grown vegetables, orange juice and ice cream, and visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic to enjoy among the flowers.
Dogs are welcome on a leash, and no booking is required for casual visits, though larger groups can arrange a booking in advance. Because the farm only opens for a short window each year tied to the bloom, and exact dates shift from season to season, checking the farm's Facebook page for confirmed open days is essential before planning a visit.
