Called the Private Open Flower Field Session. Visitors meet at the Poppy & Fern shop at The Farm, in front of the Three Blue Ducks restaurant, for a guided walk behind the fence into the growing field with grower Jess, harvesting tips, and time to cut around 30 stems of seasonal flowers to take home. Adults only, children must be accompanied and supervised. Covered shoes required; bring a bucket for the flowers.

Poppy & Fern is a sustainable flower farm and florist based at The Farm Byron Bay, 11 Ewingsdale Road, Ewingsdale, growing seasonal blooms free of harmful sprays. Its pick your own offering is the Private Open Flower Field Session, a guided experience run on periodically announced dates rather than open daily. Visitors meet grower Jess at the Poppy & Fern shop, in front of the Three Blue Ducks restaurant, for a walk behind the fence into the growing field, learning about seasonal blooms, cutting technique and how to care for cut flowers for the longest vase life, before spending time harvesting their own bunch of around 30 stems. A session runs about one to one and a half hours and past sessions have started around 9.30am on Friday mornings. The session is for adults, with any accompanying children requiring supervision, and visitors are asked to wear covered shoes and bring a bucket to carry their flowers home in. Bookings are essential and are made through Poppy & Fern rather than as a walk-in visit; the shop itself is open daily from 8am to 3pm selling ready made bouquets. As this is a timed session on set dates, visitors should book ahead through the website rather than turning up unannounced.
