About Pinehaven Chestnut Farm
Pinehaven Chestnut Farm is a family run pick your own chestnut orchard at 701 Bumballa Road, Wingello, in the Southern Highlands, with around 400 chestnut trees of the Marone and Prolific varieties. The chestnut season runs from March to April each year, with gates typically opening in mid March and the best abundance usually from late March into early April. As of August 2026 the 2026 season has closed and the farm is looking forward to reopening for the 2027 season. In season the farm opens weekends, Friday to Sunday, from 10am to 4pm, and no advance booking is needed for individual cars, though larger groups or events should contact the farm ahead. Entry is $5 per car and handpicked chestnuts are $10 per kilo. On site there are toilets, parking, a chestnut roaster, drinks for sale and a picnic area. Children and pets are welcome, with children asked to wear gloves and stay supervised. Visitors are advised to wear sturdy enclosed shoes or gum boots and bring canvas gloves, warm clothing, water and food, and to check the farm's website or Facebook page for weather related closures before travelling.
