About Lees Orchard
Lees Orchard is a long established family orchard at Dilston, about ten minutes from Launceston in the Tamar Valley, with a history dating back to 1916. It grows a diverse mix of apples, pears and cherries across roughly 12 hectares: eight apple varieties, three pear varieties, and four cherry varieties.
The orchard runs a pick your own program with friendly staff on hand to guide visitors, particularly during cherry picking. Cherries are the first crop of the season, ready from around mid December to mid or late January, followed by apples and pears from mid or late February through to early May. As with any Tasmanian orchard, the exact start and finish depends on the year's weather, so it is worth checking the orchard's Facebook page before visiting.
The orchard is open six days a week in season, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 3.30pm, closed Sundays. Outside the farm gate, Lees Orchard fruit is also sold through local IGA stores, Young Vegie Shed, Ye Olde Green Grocer, and the Harvest and Evandale farmers markets.
