About Crestview Blueberries
Crestview Blueberries is a small, family run organic blueberry farm at Lebrina in the Tamar Valley, around a 40 minute drive from Launceston. Now run by the second or third generation of the same family, it has a low key, unfussy feel rather than being set up as a tourist attraction. The bushes grow to around two metres, so most visitors can pick standing up without bending down. The pick your own season typically runs from early January to late February, sometimes stretching into mid March, and the farm only opens picking on days when there is a good supply of ripe fruit, so it pays to ring ahead before making the trip, particularly early and late in the season. Berries are sold by weight at $11 a kilogram, with EFTPOS available on site as well as cash. A portable toilet is set up near the packing shed for the season. Long sleeves are a practical idea, as some of the older bushes can scratch bare arms while picking. Many local families treat a visit as a regular summer tradition. Opening dates and hours can shift from year to year depending on the crop, so check the farm's Facebook page or call before visiting.
