About Surf Coast Strawberry Fields

Surf Coast Strawberry Fields is a pick your own strawberry farm on the Surf Coast Highway at Mount Duneed, between Geelong and Torquay, on a 90 acre property backing onto Thompson Creek with about nine acres planted to strawberries. The picking season runs from October or November through to late April. Everyone entering the picking field buys a punnet at the gate rather than paying a separate entry fee: a 500 gram punnet for adults costs $10, a 400 gram punnet for children aged 3 to 12 costs $7, and a family pack of two adult and two child punnets is $30. Children under 3 go in free. Pre picked 1kg punnets are also available for visitors who would rather not pick their own. The farm store sells ice cream, cold drinks and its own strawberry preserves, along with strawberry and chocolate cups. Only card payments are accepted, cash is not taken. Opening hours vary through the season and the farm recommends checking its Facebook page or website before visiting, since picking days depend on weather and how the crop is running. The property also has a sunflower picking area as part of the site.
