About Snowy Mountain Estate
Snowy Mountain Estate is a family owned boutique farm at 2531 Countegany Road, Numeralla, on the outskirts of the NSW Alpine Region in the Monaro. The cherry orchard sits alongside a gully leading down to the Numeralla River, at around 800 metres above sea level, and the estate says the altitude and cold conditions give the fruit better flavour and colour. Visitors can pick their own cherries in the grove between late November and early January, with staff on hand to provide picking essentials on arrival.
Alongside the cherries, the property also grows and sells apricots, almonds and garlic in limited seasonal quantities, and is better known outside cherry season for its cold climate extra virgin olive oil.
