About Roth Family Orchard
Roth Family Orchard is a family run cherry orchard at Eurunderee, near Mudgee in the NSW Central West. Six sweet cherry varieties are grown for pick your own, ripening in sequence through the season from Earlise and Merchant through to Black Star, Rons, Vans and finally Simones, so the mix of fruit on offer changes week to week. Trees are pruned low, making picking easy for children as well as adults. The orchard is open mornings only, typically Friday to Monday from about 7.30am to 1pm, with exact days and dates depending on how quickly the cherries ripen each year; the farm reopens for its new season in late November and takes bookings from mid November. Visitors pick into a loaned bucket or lug and pay per kilogram for what they pick. Bring your own containers, ice and an esky to keep cherries cool on the drive home, and wear closed shoes as it is a working orchard with uneven ground. Toilet facilities on site are limited to portaloes. Freshly picked cherries and farm gate apricots are sold on picking days, though the apricots are sold ready picked rather than self pick.
