About Macca's Farm
Macca's Farm is a working farm and cafe at Glen Forbes in South Gippsland, run by Peter and Angelika. Alongside free range pork, beef and lamb and hydroponic vegetables, the farm grows about a kilometre of hydroponic strawberries in waist high rows, planted so that picking does not mean bending down, which the farm has also made wheelchair accessible. Strawberry picking is best from September through to April, weather permitting. Containers are available from the produce store, or visitors can bring their own of a similar size. The property has a cafe serving house made meals from the farm's own produce and meats, with a menu that changes regularly, and a farm shop selling vegetables, herbs, bread and meat to take home. Farm dogs are often around to greet visitors. The farm is open Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm, though it is worth calling ahead on 0484 648 413 to confirm hours and picking conditions before making the trip out to Dalyston-Glen Forbes Road.
