About Hawkes Farm

Hawkes Farm is a 140 acre working vegetable and strawberry farm at Boneo on the Mornington Peninsula, run by the Hawkes family and fronted by a farm market that is open every day except Christmas Day.

Picking here is not a daily walk-in activity: it happens on ticketed Pick 'n Ride Tractor Tours, run by Farmer Richard on the last Saturday of each month from September to April, plus some extra dates on public holidays. Each 45 minute tour takes visitors around the paddocks by tractor, with a chat about the farm along the way, and includes a bag of produce, typically corn and strawberries in season, picked straight from the paddock. Tickets cost around $15 to $17.50 per person and are sold through the farm's online store; children under two ride free, and closed in shoes are recommended.

Outside tour times, the farm market sells Hawkes-grown and other local produce daily from 8am to 5pm, and a coffee bar operates on weekends from 9am to 4pm with hot chips, smoothies and gelato. There is a picnic lawn, garden benches, a mini digger sand pit and a vintage tractor for children to explore.
