About Hahndorf Lavender Estate

Hahndorf Lavender Estate is the largest lavender farm in South Australia, at 117 Paechtown Road, Paechtown, five minutes from Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. Opened in 2023, it grows around 50,000 lavender plants across three fields. The estate opens to the public once a year for its Lavender Bloom Festival, a pick your own event; for the 2026/27 season this runs from 19 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, daily from 9am to 6pm, including most public holidays. Entry tickets cost $20 and include cutting your own bunch of 40 lavender stems to take home, with scissors supplied and extra bunches available for $15. Tickets are sold online through the farm's booking system and are valid all day, with some onsite gate sales available subject to capacity. Visitors can walk through all three lavender fields and see the estate's harvesting and distillation equipment used to make lavender essential oil. There is free onsite parking for cars and buses, limited mobility parking near the entrance, full bathroom facilities, picnic tables and umbrellas, and food and drink vendors including a licensed bar. Dogs on leads are welcome, with water provided, and lavender attracts bees, which will be present during a visit. Outside the picking season the estate also runs a retail shop at 25a Mount Barker Road in Hahndorf.
