About Atkins Farm
Atkins Farm is a working farm near Meadows in the Adelaide Hills, about 45 minutes from Adelaide, that opens a paddock of sunflowers to the public for pick your own for a limited season each summer. Visitors book a timed 50 minute session online; adults pick five stems and children aged 5 to 17 pick one stem, with extra stems available at $3 each. The farm currently plans to reopen for its next sunflower season in January 2027, though exact opening dates are announced closer to the time, so checking the website or newsletter before booking is recommended. Because it is an active working farm, entry is only permitted during a paid, booked session and pets are not allowed anywhere on the property, including left in vehicles, other than accredited assistance animals arranged in advance. Onsite parking is limited and carpooling is encouraged; there are no public toilets on the farm, with the nearest at Battunga Park in Meadows. Visitors are asked to bring enclosed shoes, secateurs or garden snips, a bucket and sunscreen, and to be aware that bees and wasps are common around the sunflowers.
